About
The Kelowna Community Theatre is Kelowna’s professional presenting house and one of the Interior’s largest performing arts venues. Each year the Theatre is home to over 250 events ranging from comedy to music, dance, theatrical performances and everything in between.
Since opening its doors on September 13, 1962, the Theatre has grown from a small community theatre to a vibrant performance hub in the heart of Kelowna's Cultural District. For 60 years, people have been entertained and inspired by their peers, first class presenters and performers from around the world.
With exceptional local, national and international artists scheduled to perform this year, everyone is sure to be entertained.
The Kelowna Community Theatre's vision is to strengthen its current position as one of the leading performing arts facility in the interior of British Columbia.
We will do this by providing the excellence and expertise required to attract the world's best touring artists. At the same time we will continue to support and facilitate local performers by providing them a professional-quality venue right here in Kelowna.
The Kelowna Community Theatre will achieve its vision by fulfilling the following goals:
- Providing excellence in customer service in all areas of its operation, including: administrative, technical, programming, promotions and volunteer/front of house management by having passionate and well trained employees.
- Providing the physical and artistic environments to meet the evolving needs of all performers and patrons attending events at the Kelowna Community Theatre.
- Providing the strong leadership, technical equipment and environment required to meet the needs of the most popular touring performers.
- Providing a facility that will pioneer creative solutions to meet the growing needs of the community and to attract artists of an international calibre.
