KCT 60th Anniversary
The Kelowna Community Theatre is turning 60!
Since 1962, the Kelowna Community Theatre has brought us laughter, entertainment, and incredible memories, serving as Kelowna’s premiere performing arts venue. Join us this fall to celebrate the Theatre's 60th anniversary with exciting new shows, an open house and colouring contest for the kids!
The Gary Cable Project with special guests Rosemary Thompson and the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra
Led by renowned pianist and musical director Gary Cable, The Gary Cable Project is a Kelowna-based nine-piece band whose members have performed and recorded with the likes of Barbara Streisand, The Pointer Sisters, Sarah McLachlan, Ray Charles, Bryan Adams and more. On Sept. 16 and 17, this outstanding lineup will appear on the Theatre mainstage for special anniversary presentations with guests Rosemary Thompson and the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra.
Proceeds from the performances will be shared between the Gary Cable Foundation and the Central Okanagan Foundation and will be used to support local arts and culture organizations. The performances are generously sponsored by Coldwell Banker/Jane Hoffman Realty, Gibbings & Associates/IG Private Wealth Management, ChocXO Chocolatiers, Harmony Honda/Harmony Acura, Bekins Moving & Storage and Wentworth Music.
KCT open house and colouring contest
Join us for free tours of the theatre, showcasing recent renovations to both the front and back stage, during a community open house on Tuesday, Sept. 13. The open house begins at 11 a.m. with tours at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Kids - have you ever imagined yourself on the KCT mainstage? Now you can make it happen with our 60th anniversary colouring contest!
Download and print the colouring sheet above, or head down to the Theatre to colour a copy during the Sept. 13 open house and let your imagination run wild. Colouring sheets must be submitted by September 13th at 5 p.m. as winners and prizes will be announced at the 60th anniversary show on September 16th. Prizes include a pair of tickets to an upcoming KCT performance of your choosing!
