60th Anniversary Concert ft. The Gary Cable Project

KCT is set to celebrate its 60th anniversary in style!

This September, the public is invited to join the celebration with anniversary presentations of The Gary Cable Project and special guests on the mainstage (Sept. 16 & 17).

“Between changing capacity restrictions, postponements and cancellations, it’s been a difficult couple of years at the Theatre and our focus has been on completing some much-needed renovations,” says Caroline Ivey, Manager of Kelowna Community Theatre. “With restrictions eased, we can’t wait to welcome our community back into the Theatre to celebrate this exciting milestone. And what better way to celebrate than with one of Canada’s most acclaimed musical acts?”

Led by renowned pianist and musical director Gary Cable, The Gary Cable Project is a Kelowna-based nine-piece band whose members have performed and recorded with the likes of Barbara Streisand, The Pointer Sisters, Sarah McLachlan, Ray Charles, Bryan Adams and more. On Sept. 16 and 17, this outstanding lineup will appear with special guests Rosemary Thompson and the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra (OSO).

“We’re thrilled to be working with Rosemary and the OSO,” says Gary Cable “The OSO was one of the first organizations to perform at KCT way back in 1962, so it’s very special to have the chance to bring them to the stage as part of this anniversary celebration.”

Proceeds from the performances will be shared between the Gary Cable Foundation and the Central Okanagan Foundation and will be used to support local arts and culture organizations.
