Elmer Iseler Singers
This Toronto-based, 20- voice professional chamber choir has made more than 50 recordings, exploring and interpreting more than 500 years of choral music. Besides performing choral classics, EIS has commissioned many new works, and has collaborated with the Canadian Brass, the Toronto Symphony, Nexus and other performing groups. The choir, established by Dr. Elmer Iseler in 1979, performs across Canada and is often featured at international festivals. EIS was the choir-in-residence at the University of Toronto’s faculty of music for 10 years and plays a leadership role in music education for schools and community choirs. In 2013, Artistic Director Lydia Adams won the Ontario Premier’s Artist Award for Excellence in the Arts.
